Recovery and rehabilitation of eroded beaches.

OBJECTIVE

Recover the 25 m of displaced coastline and stabilize the beach eroded by the effects of storms and hurricanes in order to obtain a wide beach that is useful for tourism activities.

STRATEGY

Carry out a comprehensive coastal protection project that includes the construction of 3 breakwaters parallel to the coast, an artificial structured dune, a sand fill using a marine sandbank and covering the dune with vegetation to prevent wind erosion.

WORK TOOLS

Single beam echosounder, transducer, High precision GPS, Acoustic Doppler Current and Wave Profiler, Hypack Hydrographic software, RTK topographic survey antenas and Sub Bottom Profiler.

RESULTS
