Risk analysis
OBJECTIVE
Stabilize and improve beach and estuary conditions on Cabo Rosario Island and Secrets Beach to develop stilt houses and condominiums in an environment surrounded by clear waters, tropical vegetation and unforgettable views.
STRATEGY
Topographic and bathymetric surveys, generation of mathematical models of waves and tides to obtain maximum levels of water mirror for the design of stilt houses and condominiums and obtain storms to resist and limit conditions for hotel operations, as well as risk analysis against hurricanes.
WORK TOOLS
Single beam echosounder, transducer, high precision GPS, small boat, heavy duty computer and RTK surveying equipment. Hypack and DELF 3D software.
RESULTS
A model was generated that helped in the evaluation and decision of platform levels of the stilt houses, based on tide and wave levels, water flows were obtained within the lagoon of the island in cold front conditions (Northern wind – Northeast), wind and waves from the East and wind and waves from the Southeast, conditions that occur in the Caribbean, which helped to decide on the conditions of water exchange in it.
